Mike Smith (Founder of SMS Timber Frame)

After a 5 year apprenticeship as a cabinet maker at a famous North Yorkshire furniture makers, Mike Smith moved into the timber frame field in 1986, initially as a site erector successfully completing many "Large Structure" projects such as nursing homes, hotels, multi storey flat developments for many of the leading Timber Frame Manufacturers all over the UK and Ireland.

Founded in 1998 SMS Timber Frame is underpinned by a wealth of hands on experience and industry knowledge which can only be gained by "Being there and Doing it". The company was formed with the confidence of knowing that we could provide a better and more flexible service to our clients.

"All our projects are site lead, which means that the whole process through engineering, Design and Manufacture are controlled to ensure that what happens at site level is safer, quicker and more efficient. We have a dedicated, motivated team who are encouraged to take pride in everything that we do.
