Mr Shaw- Dormer Extension...
Mr Shaw's project was a 1960's timber frame dormer bungalow that had been cedar cladded and had a cedar shingle roof. The specification for his project was to increase the living space in the upstairs section of the bungalow by raising the ridge height at both sides of the bungalow. On Sms Timber Frames arrival, we first of all fitted the new floor structure to one side of the bungalow, saving the floors below and decked the floor structure where possible with the roof still intact. Sms Timber Frame then stripped the roof of the bungalow progressively and completed the floor structure ensuring it was fully decked and made as water tight as possible. The first dormer extension could now be constructed.
