Hardwick house- 3 story block of apartments and 1 town house.

The timber frame soleplates are laid and fixed to the slab ready to accept the timber frame panels.

Soleplate is laid out on site. Accuracy is imperative as there are 3 slab levels and a complex layout to adhere to.

The ground floor timber frame is stood and the floor cassettes are craned into place to create a strong floor structure.

All ground floor panels erected and 50% of first floor. Floor cassettes are employed to speed up the erection process, the entire first floor is fitted in the day. The structural components compliant with robust standard details.

The second floor timber frame panels are stood and plumbed in a matter of days.

First floor wall panels erected ready for second floor cassettes.

All four storeys of the timber frame are now stood and ready for the roof structure to be craned into place. At this point the timber frame structure has taken just two weeks to erect.

Nearly all the second floor panels already in place ready for the for the roof construction.

The roof structure is erected and the timber frame element of the project is now completed.

Second second floor panels up and roof already on over 40% of the building. The roof is constructed using steel purlins, peak trusses are loose rafters down to eave panels forming the “Room in the roof” detail.

The timber frame structure is complete 10 weeks ahead of the schedule set out by the client for building the block work.

Hardwick house is a completed project with the timber frame element only taking 5 weeks. The overall project has taken just 26 weeks, shaving 10 weeks off the clients masonry built programme.
